Project Directions
- Finding your favorite Star!
- Use the above link to explore the night sky and find your favorite star!
- You must be able to find your star on a clear night.
- Look for a star in your favorite constellation or visible to the naked eye.
- Reserve your Star!
- Once you have your star identified, comment on today's post with the name of your star.
- The first one to reserve their star owns that star.
- If you want to change your star, comment on the post to update the change.
- Investigate your Star!
- Take detailed notes about your star in your journal.
- Research: Your Star's Name, Location, Distance from Earth, Type, Color, Brightness, Temperature, Life Stage, Number of Planets (if known), and any other interesting facts you uncover.

Google Slides Presentation!
- Create a 5-7 Google slide presentation on their chosen star.
- Your presentation should include the following.
- Title slide with your star and your name
- Information slide about the type of star and a general description
- Size and distance to the Earth slide
- Is your star moving towards or away from us, and how do we know?
- Key features and interesting facts slide
- Conclusion slide summarizing your findings
*Be sure to include images - References Slide: Where did you get your information?
- Focus on presenting the key properties of your star.
- There will be opportunities for questions at the end of your presentation.
- Present your Star!
- Focus on presenting the key properties of your star
- Your presentation should be between 5-10 minutes in length.
- You may present your Star in any of the following ways.
- Google Slides Presentation
- Poster Presentation
- Video Presentation
- Creative Storytelling Presentation
- Include your star location/charts, data graphs, and other visual information.
- Assessments!
- You will be graded using a rubric by your peers.
- You will be able to self-assess your project/presentation.
- Your teacher will determine your final grade based on the above assessments.

Grading Scale
- 16-20 points: Outstanding
- 11-15 points: Satisfactory
- 6-10 points: Needs Improvement
- 0-5 points: Unsatisfactory
